What does it look like when a company truly invests in its people — not just with words, but with time, intention, and honest conversation?
In 2024, Joint Prosperity gave its Client Services team an answer that none of us will forget. What began as a structured excellence
initiative became something far more profound: a journey that reshaped how a team of individuals saw themselves, each other, and the work they do every day.
THE INVESTMENT THAT STARTED IT ALL
In 2024, Joint Prosperity leadership made a deliberate decision — to invest deeply in the Client Services team through what would
become known as the All-Star Excellence Journey. This wasn’t a tick-box exercise or a one-day workshop. It was a year-long commitment, anchored in transparent, honest, and sometimes uncomfortable conversations about how the team was performing, and more importantly, how they could grow.
Guided by Aderyn Axley, the journey surfaced insights about individual strengths, team dynamics, and the untapped potential sitting quietly within the group. The hope was straightforward: build a team that is more efficient, more effective, and more resourceful. What followed surpassed every expectation.
I went from seeing my teammates as colleagues, to people I can
depend on, to people I never want to disappoint.

THE 360° FEEDBACK: A MIRROR AND A MAP
The All-Star Journey culminated in a Joint Prosperity 360° Report — both individual feedback for each team member and a holistic team report. Facilitated by Suzy Boucher, the feedback sessions were structured around four powerful dimensions: self- leadership, business delivery, team impact, and broader impact.
Scores were drawn from a combination of self-assessments, peer ratings, and direct manager evaluations — creating a multi-dimensional picture of each person and the team.
The results were telling. Colleagues rated one another with remarkable consistency, pointing to something rare in any organisation: a shared understanding of standards and a mutual respect for the work. Business delivery discussions uncovered real strengths in problem-solving, while also highlighting honest opportunities to improve consistency and adopt more proactive approaches.
But it was the team impact dimension that stood out most. Suzy highlighted it as a standout feature of the Client Services team — noting consistently high ratings for helping colleagues, treating others with kindness and respect, and maintaining an open and constructive approach to challenges.
“Team impact was the standout feature — consistent high ratings
for kindness, respect, and an open, constructive approach.”

CULTURE AS A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Perhaps the most unexpected revelation of the journey was not what the Client Services team achieved internally — but how far their influence reached outward.
The 360° process surfaced a broader impact story: one that extended beyond the team and into the wider organisation. Team Lead Shabnam Haffejee echoed this sentiment, reflecting on how the team’s commitment to their values had quietly influenced the culture of Joint Prosperity itself.
This is the kind of impact that rarely shows up on a KPI dashboard, but it is arguably the most powerful force any team can generate. A handful of individuals, choosing every day to lead with excellence and integrity, can shift the culture of an entire company.
One of the core pillars of the Client Services team’s success has been the deliberate acceptance and nurturing of individualism — viewing difference not as a threat, but as a strength. This philosophy, upheld by Shabnam from day one, has created a team where people feel safe to be themselves, and empowered to give their best.
“Accepting and nurturing individualism, not viewing it as a
threat, has been central to our success.”
– Shabnam Haffejee
WHY CLIENT SERVICES IS THE BRAND
Client Services is not a support function. It is the brand.
It is the first point of contact between an organisation and the people it serves. It carries the brand promise in every interaction. And long after a product is purchased or a problem is resolved, it is how a client was made to feel that they remember.
This is why investing in a Client Services team is not a cost — it is the most direct investment a company can make in its reputation, its relationships, and its long-term growth.
THE JOURNEY DOESN’T END HERE
The All-Star Excellence Journey does not end when results improve. It does not end when a track record of high performance is established. It does not even end when the team becomes one of the best in the industry, which, by every measure, this team is well on its way to achieving.
It ends only when a team stops trying.
And if 2024 taught us anything, it is that this team is nowhere near done.
A heartfelt thank you to the Joint Prosperity leadership team for investing not just resources, but genuine belief in the people who carry the brand every single day.
